nine black cats, one white

Watercolor, colored pencil for [livejournal.com profile] queenberuthiel.* Swimming cat courtesy DK. Psychobilly 80s layout courtesy too many Paper Moon greeting cards.

For those who don't feel like slogging through Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle-Earth: "The dark and mournful Queen to Tarannon Falastur, the twelfth King of Gondor. She owned ten marvellous and magical cats, that she set to spy on the doings of the people of Gondor. Her scheming was her undoing, though, since her husband set her adrift on the Great Sea, with only her cats for company. She sailed into the far south and was never heard of again, but she and her mysterious cats lived on in legend for millennia."

*Beebs, if you want the original, big-ass scan to print out or make wallpaper or whatever, e-mail me. I tried to give you the head from The Beguiling of Merlin as on your icon, but couldn't make it work, so you get a different Pre-Raphaelite instead. Deal.

O.O!!!! Wow!!! Fantastic!

I love the swimming cat. And all her jewelry.

I tried doodling Beruthiel the other day. She ended up looking like an evil sorcerer dude. -_- Oh well.

This is Parvati writing (yes I can type), since Queen B. is sort of beside herself staring at the computer screen in wonder and making silly happy noises.

You are REALLY good with cats, Ann. Damn, you got us just right! This is great! Bravo! We are all gathered around the screen and admiring your work!

Meow... I will share my caviar with you any day!

Yeah, the swimming cat and the ship are great!!

I would love a kitten.

Er...will it be an evil kitten? (I'm not making a value judgment, I just want to know how to train it properly.)

LOL

I will give you the gentlest kitten in the litter. There is always one.

Thank you again.

Behold Queen Bibi;
The cat jumps over the moon.
I dig Ann's picture.

Thank you Issy! I am still aglow over the whole thing!

As always, you have a way with words!

Holy . . . that is just one amazing cool picture! Whoa. They should get you to do art for the books ^^.

WOW! Just beautiful. Wonderful choice of colors. I love it and I don't even like cats. (Well, except with wild rice and a hollandaise sauce.)

It's still evil.

Oh, I know, but at least it'll be low-key.

Would you rather have a well-meaning but extremely hyperactive curtain-crawler, or a well-behaved, quietly plotting minion of Satan? Put another way, who's the better houseguest - Charlie Starkweather, or G. Gordon Liddy?

Ann researches cats
Finds pictures, is astonished:
"That fucker's swimming!"

Try her again! I love your stuff.

I wanted to do her all Aubrey Beardsley, but the picture had other ideas.

Not my best work, but...

[identity profile] kielle.livejournal.com 2002-03-05 11:16 am (UTC)(link)

I can do better if need be.
And I still owe you an original one, Queenie. :)

PS: WOW, Ann--!!!

I will need to make this a paid account so I can have more icons....

Once again, I'm stunned.
Ann's a poetic genius.
Draws floaty cats, too.

Heya, big boy!

"Juicy" makes me think
Of grapey-goodness, yum, yum.
I could eat this pic.

Dig the fruit palette
But pigment can be toxic
So don't lick the paint

I haven't attempted Arwen yet, but she is simmering somewhere in my brain.

Ann's drop-n-drag homepage, which badly needs updating
