Went out at lunchtime to buy DRAWING STUFF YAY. Nice. Sunny. Pushing 50. Loveliness somewhat marred by (a) asshat driving unmuffled muscle car decorated with -- I swear I'm not making this up -- chrome-plated testicles dangling from chain under license plate; and (b) art store Muzak playing "Money for Nothing" with the word "faggot" twisted out and replaced with "mgrhan."

Was angered that anyone would fear use of the word in the song would be taken as endorsement of homophobia. Then remembered times that the Republican party attempted to use "Pink Houses" and "Born in the U.S.A." as kneejerk flag-wavin' campaign songs, so never mind.

Drawing is an excellent way to keep from murdering your family.

Does this say something about how much you draw? ;D Then again, it's also a measure of how much you like to draw.

Yesterday's drawing was an exercise in "don't be afraid to make really dark lines, you can sorta erase them later". Mashing charcoal on paper really hard is so theraputic.

Neat! I have to use crayon instead of charcoal, because I hate hate hate the feel of it. But I know the thing you mean.

I'm beginning to think I will never have charcoal free fingers. And I'm sure I have tons of charcoal dust in my carpet which means when I do vacuum it, it will ineviteably sink in and I'll have a lovely dark patch of carpet.

Yay crayons! How do you erase crayon?
