extreme piles of big steamy suckage!

I won't go into much whiney detail, because we all got trubs and nobody's dead or illin' or going to jail or anything, but this weekend has majorly sucked scissors.

Our beloved car is dead. I loved that car. It had the most amazing and sensible dash layout ever, front wheel drive that laughed at the fiercest blizzards, and a hatchback that was easy to break into if you accidentally locked the keys in it. It had no appeal at all to car thieves, and was never, ever molested.

Saturday we went over to the service station and cleaned it out. It was like stripping a corpse...all the loose change and old kids' books in the back seat pockets and the bumper stickers (now in my scrapbook) and the parking permits and the tiny stuffed yak and the Teletubbies window decal. It was only a car, but I will miss it terribly.

Meanwhile, we must adjust to life with biking, public transport (ecccch!) and the occasional taxi until we figure something out. My main concern is Mom's medical needs - the notion of not being able to tote her over to the ER at 3 a.m. if necessary.

Fuck.

Aww

Sorry to hear about the car. My last car I had for over ten years and I cried when I finally realized it was a lost cause.

I hope you'll be able to find/afford/whatever another car you can bond with.

Thankee. Something will turn up, I hope. We're still in the grieving stage. My shiny new bus pass is, however, impressive in its trading card sleeve. *gag* (Ohhhh, nice, Ann! We've gone from anger to denial to bargaining to whining.)
