disney 'n universal pic-o-rama 5

Universal - Jurassic Park.
Not my favorite movie ever, to put it mildly, but a cool chunk-o-amusement-park. Top shows a vignette from the JP water ride, in which the dinos have run amok, destroyed the holding area, and (here) apparently eaten a park employee called Eric.* Bottom picture is the JP gate, which is, if you'll pardon my Anglo-Saxon, really fucking cool.

*So who is Eric? Ride designer? Costumer's child? Hated supervisor? Answers on a postcard, please...

The JP ride! Awright!

I had that great experience while in Florida last month. Universal's Islands of Adventure may be boring as all hell unless you're a die-hard Marvel fan ::coughcough:: but that water ride... woo. ^_^ Scared the lights out of me both times I went on, and I'm a thrill ride veteran. ::grins::

I thought the Disney "Dinosaur" ride (or is it "Countdown to Extinction" now?) was scarier, but not necessarily in a good way, and its high hurl factor really shaved off points. JP was much more fun, and actually gave you time to look at the stuff before it tried to kill you. A perfect dino ride would combine JP's pacing with Disney's quality dinos.
