they call the wind OH JESUS JESUS MAKE IT STOP!

Prairie wind all weekend. Hot, except for when it was cold. This is why my ancestors used to kill their 15 children and put them up in jars for the winter.

Also, have renamed the white, foamy fountain on Centennial Mall the Money Shot Fountain, because every time I see it, it makes me wonder if Harold Edgerton ever made porn. I did not just type that.

Oh, just Google him. Leave me alone.

Yep, we had the wind here, too. My sister and brother in law insist on hanging these huge, loud windchimes with a reverb that lasts about 20 minutes right outside my window. It was like living inside a church organ all fucking weekend. Otherwise, I coulda dealt.

So, what did *you* put into jars for the winter? (And, btw, great mental image there, eeeuw. Wasn't there a movie like that at one point?)

I dunno if there was a movie. We just got it in history class. "And that winter we found Frances Svoboda frozen to death, in the rocking chair in her sod house, her 12 children put up neatly in Ball jars. We never did find Mr Svoboda." Also schoolchildren in blizzards, creeks clogged with buffalo shot from trains by Easterners in beaver hats, and covered wagons full of dead flu victims.

Wow. Your history books were a lot more interesting and gruesome than the ones I grew up with. However, I went to Catholic school, so they made up for it with books about martyrs.

Remember that awful joke I told you? About what's white and falls from the sky?

I did not just type that.

Yes you did. And this from the person he made sure I could never order a cinnamon roll with a straight face again.

Sometimes I wonder if I wasn't indirectly responsible for them switching over to the Cinnamon Melt.

I'd like to think you were.

We probably got slightly less wind, but we got enough, here. I had a friend trying to sell jewelry out of a tent at this weekend's faire. I had to get the duct tape, and even that needed help. It was not pretty. Well, the jewelry was. It was all shiiiiny an' stuff. Which was good, because that made it easier to pick out of the grass.

*hugs*

Y'got any pictures of this fountain? 'cuz now I'm curious.
