ETA: Meanwhile, today Amazon's site blog makes no mention of the incident, though it's happy to tell us that Phil Spector's been convicted of murder, and mobile taco trucks are awesome.

I read that while Amazon.fail US had restored ranks, the UK, Canada and Japanese Amazon had not.

The onus is on us, as Tim Wise has taught so well on the topic of white privilege. But they're totally the victims! I mean their screw-up may not have been malicious, and many people got angry about it! If that's not being The Real Victim Here, and proving gay people and the internet are Just As Bad as the people they oppose, and A Dangerous Lynch Mob, I don't know what does!

People were typing sentences about them! Unflattering sentences! And it was all Some French Guy's fault!

Poor Amazon. I weep bitter tears, and slightly wish I had bought an overpriced Fijian phrasebook off them to ease their pain, instead of a cheap one at that used bookstore.
