I literally came in one morning a couple of years ago and InDesign had been removed. All design work must now go to another division and be done in a frankly terrible design template that came from on high.
I spent 35 years doing typesetting and design, and now I am a wasted resource. My co-workers come to me asking for things I used to be able to do, and I have to tell them we're not allowed anymore or we don't have the resources.
More like a "Well, they have no conceivable use for this" issue.
We can't print meeting nameplates anymore. I have to print them on paper and glue them to the table tents. It looks like shit. Now imagine a hundred more tiny things like that.

You have all my sympathy even though I wouldn't wish InDesign on anyone either. It's still an actual typesetting tool, though, unlike Word.
