i go mad one, mad two, mad three...

Still mad, but, and this is important, much, much less mad than before. Not helped by my supervisor thinking that we can fit 20 pages' worth of material into a 12-page document, or by the eBay seller who suddenly doubled his shipping fee after the auction closed. But! Less mad.

Hope to get the next bit of Black Dolls up this week. Apologies for the delay, but...mad.

Making shit for MediaWest art show. Suggestions welcome.

Also, a letter:

Dear t-shirt bootleggers:

"Sandford" has two D's in it.

Your pal,

Ann

IMO shipping and handling is the biggest thing ebay sellers abuse. I will admit doubling it is worse than what that fucker Mikage did to me.

Word of advice: Mock up a page of your newsletter with teeny, tiny font to get your point across.

Shipping gets abused all the time (99 cents + 12$ shipping!), but as long as the seller is upfront about it, so I know who I'm dealing with, that's fine. But this guy... the invoice came with a rambling ALL CAPS NOTE ABOUT HOW ITS NOT HIS FAULT ITS USPS THEY GOT THE CHARGES WRONG MY FRIEND SORRY. I've forwarded it to eBay, and we'll see if they're of any help (hah!). The new shipping charge makes the item more expensive than the already-overpriced one in the record shop down the street.

I have 500+ postive feedback, so I'm absolutely willing to endure a public flameware and a single negative rather than stand for this bullshit.

Wait. What fucker Mikage? Spill!

I ordered a Sailormoon pencil board from him once upon a time. The board was $3.00. A bit pricey, but since it was an import I was willing to go along with it. Plus, I really wanted it, so there was that, too. He advertised first class shipping in the US for $3.50. Come to find out, "first class shipping" to him meant wrapping the pencil board (which was cardboard and not plastic but oh well) in a dirty papertowel, stuffing it into a cheap and flimsy envelope and sending it along to me via media mail.

I left him negative feedback, citing the overcharged shipping and the cheap way it was sent. He left me negative feedback saying that I had agreed to a contract about the shipping and had no right to leave him negative feedback. I replied and agreed that we had a contract which he violated, then told him that I did not deserve the negative feedback because I had done everything a buyer was supposed to do (paid on time, etc) and that leaving me negative feedback was uncalled for. We went back and forth for a bit, but I got my point across in his comments. It ended with him telling me never to buy from him again (like that would ever happen).

He hadn't sold a lot of things prior to that, but he didn't have any negatives. I don't know if I was a fluke or what. And, while it may seem petty to get into a flamewar over something that ultimately cost only $7.50, it was the principle of the thing, you know?

Jesus! He sounds like a piece of work.

I've noticed that most sellers now don't leave feedback until they've had it from the buyer first, which is unutterably lame.

Yeah, the tit for tat feedback thing is some serious bullshit, IMO. I only sold a few things on ebay but I *always* left positive feedback for the buyers as soon as I'd been paid.

Ooh, is there going to be a Shaun to go with the Ed you blogged about earlier, or is Ed not destined for MW?
