Meme from [livejournal.com profile] cageyklio:
If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favourite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else.

"So, since arriving, you've spent..." he did a quick mental calculation. "...around 250 quid on socks and underpants."

Those are absolutely fun sentences! The second one made me want to go "awwww" and giggle at the same time. Ow.

So as to not spam my flist (because then they would kill me and I would have to become a zombie and exact my revenge), here is mine, which is not so much from a current story, but a sentence from one f the many scraps I don't know what to do with:

“Aysengomairiedder,” Walker said in the silence which followed.

*anticipates, highly*

Mine:

"This is going to be like the thing with the horse, isn't it?"

"D'you want to be a muppet?"

"I think there's something wrong with my brain."

"I am a shit friend, Daiz. Mike finally comes out, finds somebody who could be really good for him, and I'm trying to ruin it because I'm fucking jealous."

The courier hauling Mosk and his companions arced wide around the black shadow of the local sun, then arrowed toward the center of the Agadorn fleet from behind.

Yarp. 'S prolly gonna take a while, tho.

I can do the dialogue and the characters, and I have a premise, but it's surprisingly difficult to come up with a skeleton of events to hang it all on that feels worthy of the source material.

But the dialogue and characters are the most important part! Most of the episodes didn't have any actual plot, really, just little scoops of their lives together and their reactions to events we all deal with.

To quote Ann: YOU CAN DOOO IIIIT!!!

And I'm not just saying this so I can read more of your stories. Nope. Not. At. All.
