WHUT?!?

According to Mr. Wiki, "A motion picture remake [of The Persuaders!] starring Steve Coogan and Ben Stiller is currently in the works."

*wonders if there is enough Valium left in the bottle to kill me*

Then I take it you don't want to hear about the Get Smart remake with Steve Carrel and Anne Hathaway?

Get Smart! performed its own self-abortions years ago (The Nude Bomb, The Return of Maxwell Smart, etc.), so getting irate would be pointless.

The thing is, I could so totally see them in those roles! (Which was cool and scary.)

Today I passed up the Wild, Wild West box set (as part of B&N's buy one, get one sale) in favor of the first season of Rome. I'm so ashamed.

You know, I used to not hate Ben Stiller so much, but now? HATE.

First Starsky & Hutch, now this.

Like Steve Coogan, won't go see this.

However, had no idea this show was out on DVD.

Two volumes, way cheap used on Amazon Marketplace.

Cheap is good. :-)

Can't we find some way to keep Ben Stiller from ever making movies again? Like maybe have him killed? Or at least maimed a little. Just a thought.

The Persuaders, Starsky & Hutch, the Duke brothers... all gorgeous (despite the fashion faux-pas of the eras they lived in) guys, played by yummy, man-candy type actors. And yet they keep casting guys in these remakes who are, at best, at a character-actor level of attractiveness, and at worst, look like freakin' thugs.

I want someone pretty to play Danny and Brett, dammit.

Remember "The Hilarious House of Frightenstein"?

No, not at all.
