*pets region-free DVD player and feeds it tasty treats*

It's like a Mercedes Lackey cover with characters who actually eat sandwiches occasionally.

(squee Spaced! squee!)

I guess it will just have to hide behind its UK brother on my shelf...

I'm thinking stretchy book cover. Maybe one with Spongebob.

I'm happy for the people who, unlike me, were not willing to invest in a region-free DVD player, but that cover art looks like someone just discovered the lens flare function in their photo editing program.

SPORFL!

I don't mind it, really, but come on, this is so not a pink and purple kind of show.

(Maybe they had it confused with Coupling. >.> )

You spoil it. Always giving it little things to eat.

But without it, it's just a yo!

Well, no. If they'd watched Coupling, they would've put their own eyes out with propelling pencils, and couldn't work Photoshop at all.

Oh wow, why did I not recognize the similarity before you said this?

Because I hate Mercedes Lackey covers with a passion. (I don't know about the books themselves; I've never cared to open a book with one of those horrible covers.)

Matt Stone does commentary? Is he gonna leave after 10 minutes?

He'll make several facile, poorly-drawn analogies to current affairs, then preach at us.

Which ones? She's with so many different publishers that consistent branding can't be established.

Oh, thank goodness. The R2s stayed with my ex in the UK and I've since lost my copies.

Shame they couldn't or didn't get the R2 Complete Series cover, Star Wars art and all. Much more appropriate.

Also, DIABLO FUCKING CODY?! John Ringo, no; &c.

The way-too-heavy-on-the-purple ones, with lots of flowing hair.

O hai, IR book.

At least on my computer, it seems to have color-corrected to save itself, but this one crossed with 'Brightly Burning' is what I think of when I think Lackey. That and that one Subway commercial with all the emaciated models talking about the 'hunger inside' and the one guy saying "maybe you should try and EAT SOMETHING.'

Lackey was highly enjoyable when I was 13, I can't deny that.

This is closer to what I was thinking, but yes.

It's not just Lackey. Pretty much any fantasy novel with a white horse displayed prominently on the cover, I will avoid. But it was Lackey who started me recoiling from such books.

I actually liked Coupling the first time I watched it. Now I can't get through an episode without suffering an acute attack of Oh God Make It Stop.
