(no subject)

Just watched Cloverfield. My God, those people were literally too stupid to live.

Now I want to make a sock Cloverfield monster.

That's why it was fun! Because you got to watch them die! (That sounded ghoulish.)

By the end of the party scene, I was itching for mayhem. Otherwise I'd've had to start killing those insufferable yuppie twunts myself.

I have never been more glad to see people die than when watching that movie.

Also, a sock Cloverfield monster sounds fabulous.

I gotta figure out a way to make its head bladder squeak.

... I would pay for this.

S'easy. I just have to find the bear parts place that has squeakers.

Also, I finally got to read your delightful m15m. You should get some sort of medal for using "9/11" as a verb. The comment from the woman who said, "Normally I have a sense of humor, but this is awful," was truly...astonishing.

[identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com 2009-02-24 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
There was a comment like that? I don't remember it at all.

*goes to look*

Wow, I'm impressed that I managed to forget that. Of course, she also couldn't master the "reply" function.

Heh. I try.

I couldn't watch it after the first 20 minutes because I felt like throwing up. Stupid handhelds.

Cloverfield was.......I have no scathe scathing enough. I was glad to see them all dead and it WASN'T ENOUGH!
*gnashing of teeth and tapping of claws*

On the other hand a sock cloverfield monster would be utterly squee'worthy. On the other foot? Bah!

Think of it as a really expensive Toho movie, and it's much easier to take.

*giggle* Okay, yeah. That's a framework in which it could be viewed without as much twitching.

I know, right?

I had a discussion with a friend about this. She couldn't enjoy the film because the characters were stupid fail-faces. I could enjoy it because they were stupid fail-faces who all died.

WIN!

On a more serious note, do you know what bothered me? The whole time I was watching that, I kept thinking, "It took them three days to evacuate 20,000 out of New Orleans after Katrina, and they emptied the island of Manhattan in mere hours!!!" I don't know if I was angered by the extreme amount of disbelief suspension expected of me, or that - if this were to actually happen - they probably would manage to evacuate Manhattan in a few hours. Grrr. I am glad all those pretty skinny people died.

I think it helped that a lot of the locals were crushed, dumped into the river, bitten by asplodey crabdogs, or eaten.

Also, the evacuation of New Orleans was handled by incompetent, negligent idiots, while Cloverfield was handled by a scriptwriter and the movie army.

Because oversized dressing gowns that you wear backwards are oppressive to the masses, y/y?
