He was supposed to be un-fixable - it would cost more to fix the bits than the entire car was worth, and wouldn't run anyway. I was all depressed because we'd neglected to save the tiny Pez dispenser key fob, and it was probably in the middle of a steel cube at the wrecking yard by now.
Turns out Mom told them to see if there were any economical alternatives, and to take their time, and decided not to mention it to me, probably for much the same reason that she wouldn't say, "Oh, and the vet called. He thinks he can resurrect the dog, but he's not sure and we won't know for a few weeks, so don't get excited." And they fixed it. And I get picked up tonight. And ROMMELL, YOU BEAUTIFUL BASTARD, I READ YOUR BOOK!!!
I went out and got a "What would Xena Do?" bumper sticker, to celebrate.
