Was directed this morning to a person who thinks slash fiction is fiction devoted to sexual gratification received from self-mutilation.

Was that why he kept going on about people getting cut and slashed? Oh dear. He's even more stupid than I first thought.

Yup. Somebody figured it out. I thought he was just deranged, but apparently he's also deeply, deeply stupid.

WOW that's stupid!

Well, considering that the kid in question is in high school AND lives in Texas, it's not a bad first approximation (suggesting that there's a brain somewhere under all that crap). I was far more entertained by the person who so-very-pompously provided him with a short history of the term and fucking got it WRONG.

Sauce for the goose. :)

He's from Texas!?!? Yeah, well there are enough of those yahoos around here to give the state a bad name. Geez, at least he's not from my corner of the state.

You know what's scary?

There is/are fandoms dedicated to the practice he's talking about, even if 'slash' is not the proper word for them.

I've seen the Harry licking Draco's blood, and Harry cutting himself fan art. *twitch*
