I just started watching that show in reruns (it was on against the Amazing Race during the fall, and ... well, y'know)... is there any particular reason why he's such a bastard? O_o

We were led to believe that it was because he was bitter over his gammy leg, near-constant pain, and Vicodin addiction. Later it was revealed that no, he's pretty much always been like this.
