Remember "Ahhh love uh MAAAAAN in UNI-FORRRRM?!" No? Well, anyway, that was Gang of Four, who I thought were so fucking lame based on their one sort-of hit that I was later shocked to discover they had the Kewl Kidz Indie/Punk Cred oozing from their ears. (I still think they're lame, don't tell.) I loved X and the Dead Kennedys, but I didn't get the memo about going out and valiantly rejecting my plastic bourgeois existence or whatever--I would have had to give up all my Steely Dan albums if I did that.
