No. Ted is the imaginary cat. This was with Silas, the bookstore cat. He likes to be petted, but prefers that it be done in the horrible chair in the tiny claustrophobic low-ceilinged basement. He sits at the top of the rickety stairs and yells at me because I won't go down there. I point out that there are any number of chairs on the first floor, and that I will even pick him up and carry him if he likes, but that no, I will not go in the goddamn basement.
Sometimes he sees the reasonableness of this, and acquiesces. Other times he does not, and I yell at him in a Cartmanesque fashion. Either way, Kat and Cinnamon, the bookstore managers, are amused to see him abuse someone else for a change.
