Holy cow! Aranzi-Aranzo felt mascot pattern book, now in English from the folks at Vertical. (They've brought us Ringu and Tezuka's Buddha, among many others.) Easy sewing, maximum cuteness. Use wool felt and not that craft crap.

How cool!

Vertical has done wonders for bringing Japanese popular culture to the US. I love 'em.

I should seek out the rest of the Vertical catalogue. I've loved everything I've read from them, or at least found it crazy-ape batshit entertaining (looks hard at Ringu cycle).

I've been looking, and they're doing a ton of Aranzi-Aranzo, including their comics! It looks like half a dozen volumes of varying stuff, just this year. I should write them a fan letter.

(A-A's craft books are so well done that you can work perfectly well from the Japanese instructions, but finding them and then paying shipping from Japan is a giant pain in the hinder.)

Yeah, I just finished the Ringu trilogy....only to find there's yet another book of short stories related to the trilogy. And then there's all the batshit-crazy horror stuff they've published. Other than Ringu. Actually, all of their fiction is a little on the strange side. Strange in a good way mostly.

And new Aranzi-Aranzo! Nifty.
