"Well, I didn't know who Nicholas Cage was, but I finally got to see him last night. He's a good-lookin' kid."

"Oh yeah?"

"He was on David Letterman."

(Long pause.) "Mom, that was Andy Garcia."

"Oh." (Another long pause.) "Who's he?"

I have discovered that at 40, everyone gene-enabled in the dishy category under 35 is now a GLK.

No one warned me about this.

You know you've gone through a wormhole when all the HP fans are pining for Daniel Radcliffe, and all you can think is maybe he'd like a nice sandwich and some milk.

LOL Moms, you gotta love 'em. My mom still can't tell Robert DeNiro from Al Pacino. Nicholas Cage or Andy Garcia would just completely confuse her. :)

I know I know!!!

Nicholas Cage has been in a whole lot of movies that I'd rather poke my eyes out with a knitting needle than see.

Andy Garcia has been in a whole lot of movies I've never heard of.

Your mom and my mom ought to get together, although the confusion factor may build upon itself to a critical mass. Implosion may occur.

(My mom on "Little Big Man": Isn't that the film about the gay Indian?)

Actually, all I could think was "More Alan Rickman". That and "God, Richard Harris is old."

I have a feeling he's gonna be Dick Yorked before the series is over.

I lurve Nic Cage though. It's just because I got to see Valley Girl at the right time and he was like my Dream Boy of 1983/84. His more recent output has been unbelievably painful though.

Andy Garcia just seems to show up in movies I go to see with other people in them. :-)

MomMom’s are fun .. I got into a long bitter discussion with mine about who sang You Give Love (A Bad Name) . She insisted it was AC/DC, and I insisted it was Bon Jovi. Now she thinks its funny to ask if it’s AC/DC singing It’s My Life .

This woman (who 98% of the time is a musical know-it-all) also thought The Clash where a disco band, much milk came out of my nose when she said that.

Which one? Rickman or Harris? Or were you talking about Radcliffe?

My mom thinks the Dave Clark Five were cutting edge.
