Just back from the lobby coffee kiosk. Their playlist this morning is 80s movie theme tunes.

I know 80s movie theme tunes better than actual 80s movies, because 80s movies are terrible, and I wrote a lot of papers accompanied by MTV.

So, to sum up: Gonna be a man in motion. All I need is a pair of wheels.

Well, thanks for the earworm. And for all my Ally Sheedy admiration, that was a movie I watched exactly once.

I've never seen the movie, but they played the video CONSTANTLY. All the Brat Packers Go to College movie videos are one long movie in my head where they go to college with no life plan, drive possibly stolen Mazda Miatas like maniacs, drink, do heroin, fight off the Communist invasion, stand on their desks reciting poetry, and I think RDJ is a prostitute working his way through Yale.

Anyway, I saw Local Hero like ten times.

I need a copy. Every time I look it's between pressings and stupidly expensive. ONE DAY.

I got my copy ages ago. I also have a CD of the sound track. There's a Criterion edition on Amazon for $17.99. That's not too horrible but not cheap for a movie that's 37 years old. Hell, I might consider replacing my copy with for it...someday.

Ah, right. I never saw that one, but I've heard it mentioned. Like a lot of the actors from The Breakfast Club, but a little older?
