WEll, depends how little he is. I'd suggest the Hobbit if he was about 10. LOTR might scare him a little.

I couldn't get through LTOR as a child, and I can't get thorugh them now (okay so now I'm only a teen, but still..). The Hobbit was good, I liked that one! And now for the books I recomned to all little kids; The Binicula Books! You can't beat a scheming cat named Chester who tries to kill a vampire bunny with a "steak".

Hey, I was 35 before I finished the trilogy. I always bogged down in the middle of The Two Towers. Yeah, lots of Orc scenes, lots of running, great...

The thickness of the books and the font size may scare him off. My cousin stopped after the first few pages... But then, he was 10
