look out, there's a monster coming

For Christmas, I gave Mom a pad of watercolor paper, an instruction book, and a paint-in-it book called Watercolor for the Artistically Undiscovered. I figured the odds were she'd trade 'em in for some Rosemund Pilcher, but at least I made an effort. Came home last night to "I made a tree!" And by God she'd painted this nifty little bit of arborea, with shading and everything.

It was on typing paper, but what the hell.
