Came home to find shiny new Silmarillion in the milk box.* Spent evening working on picture of Oliphaunt. I am a hopeless obsessive geek.

Still, it's better than liking The Sentinel.

Note to rest of planet: Using "bay-bee!" at the end of every sentence does not add extra coolness.

*Milk box. Believe it or not, kids, local dairies used to deliver milk, butter, etc. to individual homes on a regular schedule. The milk was often left in a large steel or wood box on the front porch. Ours is now used for package deliveries. Other uses for the milk box included trapping small animals and fireworks amplifaction.

I think being able to recognize a milk box and its uses should be a mandatory test for generational sorting. And no, I don't *really* know what that means. ;) I told someone the other day that our local dairy farm used to have an automated milk machine like a coke machine -- if you needed more milk before you got your next delivery, you could drive there and for 50 cents or whatever, get another gallon of milk. They didn't believe me.

I actually remember the milk being delivered to our house when I was a kid - and then I was never allowed to drink it, owing to that huge hive in the middle of my back when I first tried. I remember being freaked out when we had to get it at the store, tho. Also at the packages it started arriving in, I don't know what they looked like before but at some point, the packaging changed and I thought it was wrong, just plain wrong. It was shortly after that that we started getting it at the store. Maybe my parents agreed with me.

Weird.

I've always thought milk bottles were funny. That's just me, though.

Note to rest of planet: Using "bay-bee!" at the end of every sentence does not add extra coolness. LMAO. That reminds me of my friend reading the lyrics to "Love Shack" like it was Shakespear. 'Love Shack, bay-bee! Love Shack!' *ahem*

I'm a kid, I guess...
