I take exception, however, to the reviewer's remarks about Aero bars. They're lovely.

Date: 2002-01-22 02:25 pm (UTC)I DO know however, that American KitKats are ... gross in my mind. Same with the Doritos. Made and packaged differently ... there is a difference.
Guess they don't have coffee crisp either? Damn ... those are good.

Date: 2002-01-22 02:30 pm (UTC)Kit-Kats aren't bad with milk, but the chocolate is a bit odd and they don't age well. Doritos are too salty. Coffee Crisp sounds lovely.
We're supposed to get Caramel M&Ms at some point. That makes me happy.
Do they still make Royal Crown Sour Cherry?
*Bastards.
Re:
Date: 2002-01-22 02:33 pm (UTC)Carmen M&Ms ?? spiffy. I personally prefer Smarties though ... I'm such a sweets critic ... Gah.
Pity, we don't get Cheez-its here. Same with cancer causing fizzy drinks/chewing gum. Its those reasons I like America.

Date: 2002-01-22 02:39 pm (UTC)I have never had Smarties. We have something called Smarties, but they're little things like Necco Wafers or Runts that evil families give out at Halloween.
Cheeze-Its...no. No no no no! Ew! Feh!
Re:
Date: 2002-01-22 02:41 pm (UTC)Oh, and you can um, put the gun to Alicey's head. She sent me the Cheez-Its. Said I was 'deprived' ... ehhh.

Date: 2002-01-22 02:45 pm (UTC)Nope, no Smarties. m&ms and occasionally Hershey-ettes, plus a few off-brand versions.

Re:
Date: 2002-01-22 03:05 pm (UTC)Jeez, its amazing how the sweets culture can be so different. Gah.
Thank god the sweetshop sells Sherbet Lemons again ... those are my favourite. I like the traditional stuff ... lollies, ect. ^_^
Bless America and their many sweets. May the youth there grow up feeling satisfied.
How do you like your coffe?
Date: 2002-01-22 03:39 pm (UTC)*AHEM*
I cant believe you dont have Smarties! As a kid I use to put them in my Sprite and wash all the coloured coating fizz off. I did odd things with food as a kid.

Date: 2002-01-22 03:44 pm (UTC)Are aeros actually any good? I mean, when you get right down to it?
I thought not.
Don't argue with the guy who's never even had one. He'll sulk...
*this has been another drug-induced comment. Please have a nice day*

Date: 2002-01-22 06:08 pm (UTC)Bad News: If you don't get regular Aero bars in the States, you probably won't get these ones either.
What Lore Didn't Cover
Date: 2002-01-22 06:17 pm (UTC)-Coca-cola with real sugar instead of corn syrup. Fairly similar to the US product, but noticeably different if you drink Coke as much as I do. Not as sweet as Mexican Coke, and not the enamel-thinning battery acid bottled in Hungary.
-Kraft Dinner Spaghetti. It's like Mac and Cheese, only spaghetti. Also available in creamy tomato flavor. Notable because it serves two rather than one and a half.
-Happy Planet Oh Cranada juice, the only cranberry I like more than Ocean Spray
-Pickle Chips
-Smoky Bacon Chips that may have been downwind of bacon at the supermarket, but no closer
-"All Dressed" Chips
One of the major supermarket chains here has an Irish/British food section, in which you can snag Lion or Flake bars, but usually not Crunchies. There's a gourmet food shop in town that has a massive British Junk Food section, including my favorite British candy bars (Cadbury Fuse and Nestle Yorkie), and Smarties Smarties Smarties. They're overpriced as hell, though. And I've actually been to a gas station near White River Junction, VT, that had Australian candy for some weird reason.
