Took a Valium to ward off impending nasty panic attack. Keep singing random excerpts from "Bohemian Rhapsody."

They gave you valium??? Interesting. I just have a generic Xanax here...

Dr C isn't a fan of Xanax, and advised against it since I had some Hooked On Phonics issues with another, similar thang. I've done well with the Valium, from four a day when I was at my most wig to, now, half of one every week or two. It's also inexpensive, which is always a plus.

I never tried Valium. Generic Xanax for me too. Never liked it much, though I had a number of friends who would have gladly consumed all the Xanax I didn't want. It rather than calming me, I would just go directly to the post-panic floppiness and spaciness without the actual attack. No golden glow.

No glow for me either. Just a numbness of emotions and a spacy-ness that results in me not being able to do anything else except go to bed because I cannot do any work. :/

Luckily, I do not have to take anything unless the attacks are severe to a point I cannot control them in any set way. Luckily, I have only had to take the meds perscribed to me only once in the past month or so. *comfort hugs*

I love valium. I took it back when I had a horrible, horrible job, a boss from hell, and panicked all of the time-- one of those blessed little pills, though, and I felt normal.

*wistful*

Amazing.

I cannot disagree. Used judiciously, psychoactive drugs are a great blessing.

And, very occasionally, one can get good 'n ripped.

I can't help but thinking how many of my family members would benefit from trying physician-prescribed chemistry for a change...

I've long been threatening to load up a semi-automatic dart gun with anti-depressants and tranks and do a mental health Littleton at the next family gathering. It would be a lot easier if I could just drop it in the tequila bottles, but there is that pesky "Don't take with alcohol" warning.

On the other hand, calculate the dose correctly and it would merely render them unconscious for a few peaceful hours...

I've decided I'm going to carry a pistol loaded up with Haldol, for a couple of my least favorite relatives. Nail'em right in the ass and they'll just fall over immobilized and twitch with tardive dyskinesia. Chemical restraints, whoo-hoo!
