The first time I saw Doctor Strangelove was in London in 1980. Peter Sellers died, and the BBC blew off their regular programming to show DS instead. I was alone in the TV room, crouched on an institutional-green vinyl chair, and stayed up much too late to watch it. I haven't seen it in ages, though...I need to keep an eye out for its next AMC appearance.
