He's even cuter in japanese. I really like the short film at the end of the second movie. I forget the other little cat guardian's name that follows Eriol around, but they (Kero and the other flying cat thing) fight over fried ocotpus. It's hilarious.
One of these days I may actually not be a starving college student and be able to get a real web site. When that happens I will be sure to store all my anime for everyone to download :-D and then there will be card captors for everyone.
I don't know about where you live but they cancelled Card Captor Sakura here. It used to play on the WB on Saturday mornings. It even came on during the week for a while. I guess they quit showing it after they showed all 70 episodes :-/
I'm not sure about the show. It was on Toonami, then the syndicated version of Toonami, and now I have no idea. The manga is still going strong, and there are still tv tie-in books coming out. We're even getting an English-language Art of Cardcaptor Sakura this year!
Ooh I have to keep an eye out for that art book. I', ashamed to admit that I own only 1 art book, the latest Neon Genesis Evangelion one. I really want all of the Sailor Moon ones.
The Evangelion artbook is cool! I nearly didn't get it - I don't know the show or the strip very well - but I saw a copy at the University bookstore and went nuts. (Though I bought it off the 'Net, because I am the World's Cheapest Woman.)
I never knew such things as artbooks existed (it was much more common to find Mooks, Roman Albums, movie comics, etc.), but several years ago my local comic shop got in the first Sailor Moon books. They were hideously expensive. However, there was very little anime or manga fandom in our area, and the poor things went unsold until they turned up at the annual summer heatstroke sale* for a few dollars. I got II and III, and went crazy-ape over them. This year I got a Chinese paperback edition of IV (www.mygiftworld.com has them - nothing like as nice as the hardbacks, of course, but the repro is still excellent), and I in hardback from www.amazon.fr - even with airmail postage it cost around $20-$25. Next: V. Somewhere.
Anyway, amazon.com has some Japanese collections on offer (usually special order and a very long wait), and it looks like we'll be getting more US editions of some things, maybe IhopeIhope.
*July. West-facing parking lot. A dozen tables covered in comic boxes. Fainting was not uncommon, but the prices and free swag were amazing.
