photo spam: ghost

nitasee likes pictures of ghosts -- old painted walls of advertising that have fallen into disrepair. Got this for her at lunch today:



Click to embiggen. Former typewriter store on 11th Street, now a YMCA and condos. Painted at eye level, about the size of a movie poster. We used to go there for Smith-Corona cartridges and adding machine tape. It shared a block with Trade-A-Tape (the comics store, still in business a couple blocks away, and better than ever) and the legendary Dirt Cheap (renamed Twisters in the Eighties, bought by the Homers chain, no longer part of Downtown at all).
