I found a used copy of the White Wolf* In Nomine** rulebook, and am using it to make an altered book. I was working on a page last night and realized that the illustration of the Archangel Michael was swiped from an old photo of Michael Praed as Robin Hood. Had the hair and the sword and everything. Fucker's haunting me, I swear.

*EDIT: I'm full of shit. It's a Steve Jackson Games game.
**Role-playing game involving Angels and Demons. Hardcover, with hilarious Bible-white pleather binding and red foil stamping.

This sounds highly amusing. Would love to see what you do to the book.

The Backflip Boy used to play In Nomine with a bunch of our insane Ren Faire friends up in Milwaukee, actually--it's based pretty much half on Dante and half on Terry Ptarchett and Neil Gaiman's _Good Omens" with some of the Prophecy films thrown in for good measure.

As for art, Carol Burell, an old friend from RoS fandom was an art designer on one of the In Nominee books, so hey, you never know... :)

I skim the Well every once in a while. Miss [livejournal.com profile] lucy_anne and I heard half of Coraline at Boskone and it was fantabulous. Btw, I theoretically run the [livejournal.com profile] neil_gaiman thing here.

My favorite still swipe was a paperback cover that was a slightly re-worked version of that still of Athena from Battlestar Galactica. Had the helmet and jumpsuit and everything.

That's like Jody Whatsername that did the covers for all the Mercedes Lackey books about Whatshisname the Herald-Mage. Yes, you can tell it's been at least 10 years since I read those stupid books. ;) I'd love to see what you do with the book too!

I think Mr Big Eyes is actually married to Mercedes Lacky. I'm afraid of his horses.

Yuppers--that first Misty herald mage book has got a Michael Praed as Loxley cover, but all the rest seem to not be blatant ripoffs of a 20 year old publicity still... I don't read her--she makes me unhappy. I still get miffed over the bean sidhe in the Serrated Edge series.

Jannest, sweeting, is that you?

I haven't read any Misty Lackey in years. I used to enjoy her as sort of junk food fantasy but she got real boring real fast. At the time that the Herald-Mage books came out, of course, I thought the use of Mr. Praed on the cover was pretty cool but I got better.

And yes, dearest, it *is* me. :)

You can tell I'm clueless about all of this or even who Jeff Mariotte and his wife are. LOL (I'm very new to Buffy fandom anyway, having just gotten sucked in in the past 9 mos or so thanks to Nancy Hutchins' Seth Green obsession, F/X and Miss [livejournal.com profile] antigone921.)
