woman leaves house, film at eleven
Jul. 2nd, 2002 04:40 pmSunday was the Unit's 80th (Jesus!) birthday. I made her a cake, which sort of fell apart coming out of the pan and had to be re-glued with icing. Oh well. Put sparkler candles on it, but I think they might have been old or something. Or maybe I used too many. The instructions were kind of vague and the candles unnecessarily flammable. We ended up panicking, snatching them off the cake, and putting them in my water glass.
I gave her a B&N gift card. She yelled at me, so I knew she liked it.
Last night I persuaded her to go to the store with very little difficulty, and she got Bob Kerry's book and the new thing by the dame who wrote The Pilot's Wife. Mom seemed pleased about it, so I refrained from sticking any fingers down my throat and bought a designer coffee at the bar.
