I LOVED "Metropolis." The original AND the remake. I also loved the soundtrack from the 80s. It wasn't real clear, though: WHEN is this due out? Is it out now? Is it to be sold as a director's cut?
It looks like it's a theatrical release right now, but surely a DVD must inevitably follow.
As they mentioned, it's not a director's cut - there may never be a true one, since much of the footage seems to have been destroyed - but it's the closest anyone's been able to assemble so far.
