Dateline just started a story on the new Austin Powers with a totally straight-faced introduction to a "powerful jailhouse interview" with Doctor Evil.
We are SO going to see that this weekend, if I have to drag Greg kicking and screaming. I'm a huge AP fan. Have been ever since the first one. I even have some of the dolls. LOL!
I vacillate between adoring AP and wanting to smack it with a fireplace poker. The whole milieu's been ingrained into me since childhood, back when CBS used to run Casino Royale 30 or 40 times a year. Rob Lowe and Robert Wagner as Number Two totally corpse me.
I never had the dolls - they're the toy size I generally favor (8-9"), but they were very high priced most places around here. I used one of the Scott Evil action figures to make one of the Lone Gunmen: http://www.geocities.com/lensbeetle/toys2.html . I'm kind of sorry now I didn't get an extra, 'cause he was a cool toy. But they were expensive and hard to find. I have a Spacesuit Dr Evil somewhere, and a regular Dr Evil who will probably be made into Morris Fletcher one day.
There's a new set of AP bobbleheads that's really pretty cool.
Wow. Good job with the figs! Greg and I have a friend who --or at least he USED to--does some very cool and twisted things with Barbie dolls. He had a centaur, a naga, and I can't remember what else he did, but they were cool. :)
Ooooo, I love demento Barbies. Is his stuff online anywhere?
I have one at home that's Barbie in a Wampa costume (killed at 12" Hasbro Wampa and put a zipper in his neck, so she wears his skin as a suit - sorta like Anya dressed as a bunny rabbit).
I haven't done much customizing lately, but I'm about due to go back to it - I promised Susan some Secret Adventures of Jules Verne figures, for one thing. But you can see some old stuff here (mostly Famous Covers, though there are Barbie and Pez and other parts): http://www.zappowbang.com/gallery9/Artists/Ann/galleryAnn.html Sadly, the Sith Academy Darth Maul in Boxers is not there.
And if you hit the 'toys' link on the Lone Gunman page above it'll show you some custom Fisher-Price Little People.
My buddy emailed me back. I knew it was a long shot. He stopped making his Barbies about 6 years ago and has sold or given most away. :( So, he no longer has pics. I tried, though. I THINK I sent him a link to your site, though, so he could look at your figs. You do great work!
BIIIIIG AP fan.
Can't wait, can't wait! :)
