1. Your LiveJournal User Name
annlarimer
2. The name that you choose to use
This would be...my name.
3. Explain how/why you picked the user picture(s) you have
1. I like Millennium, and I like the many things the ouroboros represents. 2. The first version of the picture was part of a t-shirt design I did for a RevelCon. 3. I needed an icon for EZBoard, so I cropped that bit out of the RevelCon design. 4. Ourry has evolved into a sort of personal mascot. 5. The current version is scanned off the cover of a book I bound and painted.

If permanent, what did you do to get it? If free, why not a paid account?
I've only been here a month or two...I'm still test-driving.
- Your Journal -
5. Why do you have a Journal page? Do you have a Journal page for yourself, your friends, strangers to know you, and/or everyone?
It's easier than writing to 20 different people, and there's a neat sense of community here.
6. Why did you pick LiveJournal (LJ) over another service or handwriting?
I tried blogger and it was kind of scary and frustrating. LJ is very user-friendly - designed to help you learn code rather than assume you already know it. And I like the BBS format.
7. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how well does your LiveJournal represent who you actually are?
No clue.
8. How do you think your LJ represents you the most; factually (includes daily routine), emotionally, intellectually, sexually, religiously, or artistically?
I'll play the odds and say artistically.
9. How much about your life do you post to LJ?
I try to treat it like a story and have mercy on anyone who may read it, and post when something actually, y'know, actually happens, or I have something to say. You're not going to hear about every phone call or every time I'm bored or when I change the channel on the TV.
10. On a scale of 1-10 how interesting do you think your own journal is to others?
No clue.
11. From who / how did you find out about LJ?
I first saw LJ on mara k's site. Most of the folks I knew were using blog.
12. Has anyone ever joined LJ because of you?
nitasee, possibly?
13. How long have you been a member of LJ?
Since...March? April? May?
14. How often do you post to LJ?
When I have something to say.
15. What proportion of your posts are friends only? Totally private?
I haven't locked or filtered anything yet.
16. What is your FAVORITE interest on LJ (no more than 5 please - we'll all just assume that you like all of your listed interests to some degree
Drawing.

Gosh yes. bratbitch, amenlover, and kielle come to mind, she said, grinning evily.
19. Has anything on LJ ever caused you to establish, rethink, or even change your belief or position on something?
Sure. That's what discourse is for. Stuff on LJ has also buttressed some of them.
20. How often do you respond / comment on other peoples journals?
Lots and lots. Especially if there's a chance to use the word 'feckless.'
21. Do you prefer to write in your Journal, read other Journals, respond to others entries, or get responses to your entries?
All
22. What's the longest you've gone without posting to LJ since the day you signed up?
The week I was gone for MediaWest.

And again, the week I was at MediaWest.

The one with the Dr Pepper bomb.
25. What is your favorite post you've ever read on LJ?

Amenlover's journal, and the wide variety of apeshit responses he generates.
27. Have you ever specifically asked a question for people to reply to in your Journal (polls included)?
^_^ I like polls. I've also asked for infobits on occasion (e.g., what color are U-Go-Girl's eyes?).
28. Have you ever tried to play the "trace yourself back through friends from a random LJ user"
No.
29. Have you ever played the "add a sentence to my post" game?
The what?
30. Have you ever lied/fibbed in your journal?
Not without copping to it immediately.
31. Have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed, or got into an argument/flame war on LJ (or did it to someone else)?
I've had a few folks try to be mean to me, but they sucked at it and I put them down like mangy dogs.
32. Have you ever banned someone from your Journal?
No, but no anonymous postings - there's something kinda creepy about them.
33. Has LiveJournal had any significant impact on your life?
Oh yes! I get to share stories and pictures, I've encountered wonderful folks and complete maniacs, and I'm learning more and more HTML.
- Friends -
34. Who are your favorite LJ friend(s) and why?
In alphabetical order: amenlover (nonexistent maniac), bratbitch (my complete opposite), kielle (for her sheer kielle-ness), nitasee (Peter Watts to my Frank Black...and the other way around).

bratbitch
41. Who is your least favorite / most annoying LJ user or community (WARNING: ANSWER AT YOUR OWN RISK)?
Pretty much anyone I get when I hit 'random.'
43. Why are you MOST likely to add someone to your friends list
They intrigue me, or make me laugh clean outta my chair.
44. Do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first?
No, but I certainly visit their journals.
44a. What is the most likely reason you WOULDN'T add someone to your friends list?
If s/he were very obviously someone who, in real life, I would punch in the face or have arrested.
45. Do you care if someone adds you to his or her friends list if you add him or her first?
Nah.
45a. Would you remove them from yours if they didn't?
Nah.
- More than Friends on LJ -
47. Is your "Significant Other" on LJ?
I don't have one.
48. OTHER than your S.O., who are you the most attracted to on LJ (those who think this question means an instant argument with your S.O. may pass on this question, if you don't have a S.O. just answer it)?
I am so not touching this question!
49. Who is the sexiest person you know on LJ?
::smiles enigmatically::

Peter Watts to your Frank Black?!?

Would that be the 'good' Peter Watts or the 'evil' Peter Watts?

(If you say both, I may have to...aw, hell if you say both you'd be right.)

"and the other way around." And a good save for Ann

"Your hands are almost as soft as St. Sebastian's!"

Have you seen Kielle's nifty selection of ourries on iconaddicts? She includes the MM Group's version, and no one's claimed it...

Yep, I saw the lovely icons of Kielle. I not only notice the group's own ourrie, but a neat picture of Jack & Sally, both unclaimed. If I can figure out how to do it, I'd love to claim 'em and add them to my user pix.

Hints, suggestions, instructions? (No rude ones, thank you)

Easy-peasy. And yes, that Jack and Sally is swell!

1. Ask Kielle if you can use 'em (in case somebody's got dibs in the meantime).

2. If she says yup, save the pics to your hard drive. If you're on a PC, you put your cursor on the picture, hit the *right* mouse button (assuming you're using a right-handed mouse), and a little menu will pop up. One of the options will be 'Save picture as.' Click on that.

3. A thingie will pop up that will allow you to save the picture to your hard drive under whatever name and place you choose. Do that. Remember where you put it.

4. Go to the main LiveJournal page. Log in if you aren't already. Click on 'Your Pictures' on the menu in the left-hand column.

5. This will take you to a page that will walk you through loading up your icons. You have room for three on a free account. Load 'em up, give 'em names, pick one as your default. When you post (use the complicated version, the one with the moods and music options), you will be given the option of choosing one of the three or leaving the one that is your default.

(If this stuff doesn't work or makes you nuts, e-mail me. Change the password on your account, tell me what it is, and I'll load 'em for you. Then change the password again.)

*gape*
