Agh. Looking after tiny cranky coughing occasionally delirious woman. Not delirious so much, but when she nods off she starts talking to various invisible and/or deceased friends. Tennis in New York is rained out once again, so when she's awake she's homicidal. I'm considering putting on The Blair Witch Project at full volume and hiding her remote (she can't work the actual buttons on the machines even when she can walk).

I probably won't, though.

What is it about elderly women and tennis? I know that the tennis in New York was rained out most of the weekend. Why? Because my mother felt the need to bitch to me about it as though I were personally responsible. (Damn these weather-altering powers of mine, anyway.)

Hope your mom feels better soon, Lady Ann. For both of your sakes. :\

She's doing better. I've abandoned her this morning (for, as you say, both our sakes), so doubtless she's having fun adventures with toast and Jessica Fletcher.

The tennis thing is driving me mad. While I do not have to suffer personal blame for the cloud cover over Arthur Ashe Stadium, I do get to hear about how disgraceful the Williams sisters are. Near as I can figure their terrible sins are not being built like coke addicts, and not dressing like Country Club Barbie. Go Williams sisters, I say.

I fucking hate tennis.

Heard a discussion on the radio this morning about one player's "Pink Panther Outfit"??? I had no actual exposure to tennis this weekend (or complaints about lack thereof) so am particularly clueless, but there was some commentary about "that wasn't a skirt, it was a swatch of fabric!" and "Her top was awfully tight." "Oh, you mean the one with the v-shaped neckline that went all the way down to show off her belly button ring? How could you tell it was tight?"

Conversation then drifted into the player wanting to go back to her catsuit which was more comfortable, and not taking some stalker very seriously...and I think they then were taking bets on how long the stalker would last if he got too close to her, given her fitness level.

Am SO glad nobody in the family is a tennis addict, at the moment. I send you sympathy! (Although am somewhat curious as to how one plays tennis confidently when wearing only swatches of fabric...)

Ahahaha... those are pretty much the same reasons why my mom loves the Williams sisters. She sits in her doublewide in Dixie and roots and hollers for them (when she's not haranguing me via IDX line about the weather.) Of course, she also loves The Osbournes.

You've got to be stacking up some world-class good karma out of all this, you know. I'm talking poolboy-fetching-daquiris-type major good karma.

I hate tennis, too.

Hope it's nothing serious with your mom and that she will be OK.

She's much better. If I don't kill her.

If you do kill her, plead for mercy from the court because you're now an orphan.

I'll certainly take that under advisement.
