...like, I'm alone in the office yesterday cuz like everybody's at the Rural Health Conference, no problem, do it every year, and Sharon over in DD spells the phone for me so no big, and then like Sharon's all "I'm gonna go to lunch at Noon" and I'm all "Okay," and I go to lunch at 1:15 and drive home to make sure Mom hasn't had a relapse and see if there's any good mail and maybe paint a little, and then at 2:00 I go out to start the car to go back and the car's all "rrr*kof*" and I'm like "Aw, nuts." So I call Sharon and tell her I'll be late and I'm sorry she's all alone and she's all "Don't worry about it" and then I go down to the corner to get the bus but they cut the service way down in the afternoons so I'm there for an hour and there's no bus and it's like 90 out and it's getting to be like 3:00 and I'm all "Screw this!" 'cause even if a bus comes right now I'll get downtown and then it'll be time to come home, so I go back and call Sharon and I'm all "I'm really sorry" and she's all "Don't worry about it" and I'm all "Can you turn my machine off?" and she's all "Sure." And I figure I'll go read or something but all my books and magazines are in my bag, which is still in my office, so I'm all, "Well fuck" and took a nap. But sitting in the sun waiting for the bus and then getting some sleep seems to have burned all the ick out, so I'm hoping I've finally escaped the crud virus, except there were mosquitos on me waiting for the bus this morning so now I'm probably all, like, with the West Nile Virus and will die. So nuts.

If you die, your ghost is allowed to come live at my house. We watch a lot of cartoons.

Nyah, you don't live in Illinois or Louisiana, so you couldn't possibly DIE from West Nile Virus. Just get really, really sick.

There! Doesn't that brighten your day just an eensy teensy?

I think the four folks in various local morgues might want to discuss it with you.

((Awww geez, your day was like mine, but worse! I was feeling like I was coming down with something at work yesterday, and on my way home the car broke down in the middle of traffic. Luckily the tow truck came pretty fast and I didn't attempt the bus today and stayed home, and no mom at home to take care of, so not so bad, but enough that I'm with ya in solidarity, sistuh! ))
