The Net and I both have viruses, apparently. I thought I'd got rid of mine, but it's back today and going for my throat and eyes. Fucker. Meanwhile, my inbox is filled with that stupid attachment virus - you know, the one where you get mail from strangers with random attachments from wherever on their hard drive? Delete, delete, delete.

Tow man came and took the car to the garage today. Please, garage man, please fix it. I am very tired of hauling overpiced milk from the quickie mart, and our bus route is still under control of the Brake-Riding Dame. At least if I'm still sick tomorrow I won't have to ride with her.

It's currently a draw as to which I hate more - tennis, or the constant reminders of a horrible and violent national trauma. Thank you TV, thank you so fucking much. If I can ever leave the house again, I'm renting an assload of Disney features.

((Good luck with the car! Hope they can fix it. And I'm staying away from TV and have CD's at ready to replace my NPR this week any time they get going on it.))

I got my fingers in my ears and I'm going "La la la" until Sept 12. At least the fucking US Open is over now. I think.

It may be. I can't tell. That just means they'll all move on to another tournament of some sort. Bastards.

I'm shutting down all tv and radio for the next several days, before and after. I have a nice big white candle (like they carry in mexican grocery stores) that I will light at 9:00 on Sept 11, I'll spend a few minutes in contemplative silence, and then let the candle burn until it's burn out (you can do that with those mexican candles.) That's it. I'm not going to go over old footage, get myself so worked up I puke again, or anything else. I personally think the government, in politeness to the still living victims of what happened, should have requested that all television and radio productions simply have a 5 minutes of silence at 9:00 on that day to mark the moment and honor the dead and say no more about it. Printed material such as magazines and newspapers should simply have a small column stating that they too wish to cooperate with the five minutes of silence and no further uproar. Much more honorable than the vomitrocious commercialistic race for viewer ratings.
