As a teacher, I dealt with kids all the time and watched them process what happened. I had more then a couple of them say that they didn't care and didn't understand why others were so upset. I told them everyone deals with it in their own way. Not having any strong emotion about it wasn't wrong; niether was being overcome by emotion.
Say what you feel about the attack, it's your feelings and it legitimate. Of course saying "It's so cool to watch it collapse" to someone who lost friends and loved ones in the attack may just get you a punch in the face.
And who could blame them, that is a legitimate response, too.
