I just saw an ad for I Spy.

It looks much, much worse than I feared. Like bad. Like The Postman bad. Like makes Wild Wild West or The Avengers look like Rules of the Game bad.

Why is it that when the movie makers sin, we suffer, rabbi?

And of course the morons at Ain't It Cool News think it's really really funny because "no one ever really watched that show in the 60s anyway". I mean gimme a break.

I usually do too. They're only good for things like Buffy or Star Trek spoilers.

Ain't It Cool is a bunch of fucking morons, as I discovered when every review of Fellowship of the Ring seemed to begin with the sentence, "Frodo's a fuckin' FAG!!!"

The folks at AICN make Mego and Joe collectors look like examples of rock-solid maturity.

Oh lovely. I've missed those... the level of people in the Talkback area is just staggeringly low. I also can't take any site seriously when 3/4 of their reviewers are illiterate. I don't care what kind of connections they have -- if they can't spell or punctuate properly, I'm not gonna give them a moment's notice.

You are so right.

The original was clever and wonderful. It did so many things that was never done before and it did it all so well.

This movie should be burned. BURNED

I have no problem with the idea of making a movie of it - it could be way spiffy. But...dear God. Why? Why? Why?

It WAS a cool show!

No one watched it in the 60s my ASS! My fiance is a HUGE fan of that show. He's pissed that they're even MAKING a remake.

I don't think ANYONE could do it like Culp and Cosby originally did.

Shoot, even Culp and Cosby can't - God knows they've tried. But someone could do it their own way and do it well. Unfortunately this thing looks like another one of Mr Murphy's shark-leaps, and makes Pluto Nash look appealing by comparison.

I WATCHED in the 60's. I loved it. It's why I love cool-ass spy stuff.

Ain't It Cool News suffers from "cranial rectal inversion" as they say.

Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson. The horror. Saying they're not Cosby & Culp is doesn't even begin it. Why, lord, why?

When the big laugh-getter in the trailer is Eddie bragging about the length of his dick, you know you're in for a real treat.

It was much duller than it should have been, but one can say the same for the original series. It had a fucking huge mechanical spider, so I can't hate it as much as I probably should.

Talk about bad movies, I saw the new trailer for Star Trek: Nemesis last night. Man, when that one comes out not only will Baby Jesus be crying, but all the angels and saints will be right there along with him.
