Oh my God, there really is a book called The Naughtiest Girl in the School! I always thought Monty Python made that stuff up.

That is such a good book! I have read it many times, and in some ways consider the heroine Elizabeth an early role model. There are two full-length sequels and a novella too.

I love Enid Blyton. Apparently she wrote about 800 books. I'm trying to get them all - and a complete bibliography, but early, obscure titles keep turning up...

Keen! I will add her to my wishlist. I still have to read the two omnibussseses I got in the spring (and finish off all the cool, brain-damaged Biggles that [livejournal.com profile] susanmgarrett sent me).

Can I give her your new number? She still calls for you all the time.

W E Johns, mmm - I read Biggles too. And Gimlet. And W.E's kick-ass hard as steel girl aviator Flight Officer Joan Worralson "Worrals" series (with her flighty, red-haired assistand Betty "Frecks" Lovell.) I'm embarrassing myself now, eh? I don't care. My favourite Biggles' are Biggles Flies North, Biggles Fliest East and Biggles in Africa - basically any of the 1930s ones are great though. And any of the ones with Von Stalhein. Yay Biggles!!

seriously, you know that you must always take their unseriousness in a serious manner otherwise, by not taking them seriously, you might not understand their non-seriousness. you see?!
