Summerland is indeed a lovely read, especially for those of us with wistful childhood memories of impromptu neighborhood baseball games. Proud to say I once "knew" Chabon from a few years back when we were both regulars on the Jack Kirby list (where I think he yet may lurk without posting, much as I do, except I don't have the convenient excuse of being a big-time Pulitzer winner/Hollywood screenwriter), and it's wonderful to see him enjoying such enormous success.
