I like the whole making plushie hair thing. If you use fleece, it's really soft and forgiving and can be shaped in the most amazing ways. Anthy's roll-up 'do is basically a big purple doughnut wrapped around her head, then needle-sculpted(!) to make the lumpy bits. And it's the easiest thing in the world. Dayamn. Vampire Willow's got the straight parted dealie, of course, and I get to do all these little darts and tucks and lines to make it interesting. And it's easy, because unlike a straight weave, or stiff felt, THE FLEECE DOESN'T CARE! It just lies there and takes it! Ahahahahahahahhahahaaaaaaaaaaaa!

The frequent needle-jabbings, however, are getting old.

Note to Phil Collins: Thanks for making Tarzan suck so much, you asshole.

Yeah! I remember the axe!Haldir discussion. It's still a good idea. (I'm still working on Gollum, too. He's getting a serious ear makeover.) But Scrunchie!Toothpick!Halder will always come first in my heart.

Who's your friend? The plushie board is at www.ufocatcher.com - site owned by the woman who made that fecking amazing Agent Smith plushie and an Elrond that puts all other Elronds to shame. One day I will murder her in a frenzy of jealousy.

I'm finding the whole plushmaking thing very comforting right now. I've been very anxious the last couple months, and the fabric, etc. is very soothing. Plus, at the end, you get a dolly.

Also, other people do not actually exist in the world, so don't worry about it. All is maya.

TRL makes me want to eat Drano.

Visited chihayaplushie's LJ but don't recognize her. :(

I am very fortunate in that most of the anime/manga I like doesn't have UFO catchers, and the ones that do generally suck. Combine that with my bone-deep tight-fistedness and it's kept the collection under control. Sort of. On the other hand, it means I get a lot of UFOs from shows I've never heard of, because I think they look cool - I've got one from some video game of an old-testament god-ish figure with beard, wings, and halo, who is now known as Eru. Thank God there are no official LOTR plushies. At least that I know of.

Nazgul would be keen. Especially with horsies!
