Because they remind you of the sweet, hot taste of infants' flesh?

Cute!

Who's the blond chick speaking Russian? I get the feeling I should recognize her... ^_^;

Semi-obscure Marvel Comics heroine Darkstar. Once a member of The Champions, she recently turned up in X-Men.

Recently as within the last year?

I'm pretty sure I haven't gotten any titles about The Champions when I was an X-Men fanatic, but I can't say the same for my brother. Unless she popped up in an X-Men story before, or my brother had the relevant comics, I have no clue why I sort of recognized her...

The Champions dates from the late 70s, so I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't read it. I saw her in one of the recent Grant Morrisson TPBs at the bookstore, in a team with Jamie Madrox and some other folks. She's also been in the Soviet Super-Soldiers and various guest appearances - oh, wait, she was in the episode of the X-Men cartoon where they go to Russia! I bet you've seen that.

Actually, the only X-Men cartoons I've seen to date are maybe 5 episodes of Evolution and one or two from Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. Totally missed the X-Men cartoon since I had dropped the comics years ago and didn't know (or care) about the cartoon until after its initial run.

I'm thinking I probably saw Darkstar in one of her guest appearances. She and Jamie (Multiple Man, right?) were on a recent graphic novel cover? Does that mean she was on Muir Isle at some point? Hmmm.

Nah, this was inside the book. I have no idea what was going on - last time I saw Jamie, he was in fact dead. The team could've been whatever the current incarnation of X-Factor is...

I think the "original" Jamie died, but he managed to prevent one of his doubles from re-joining him when he got infected with the Legacy virus and was able to survive that way. Or something like that--I didn't actually read the relevant issues; was chatting with one of the clerks at a local comic store about X-Men shenanigans not too long ago. Also, apparently everyone in the Rasputin (sp?) family died, which ticked me off.

It's okay. Just one of my little spells.

I'm told that Illyana died clutching her Bamf doll in a touching scene, the very notion of which makes me giggle hysterically.

Is the giggling over the notion of a "touching scene" that includes Bamf dolls, Bamf dolls in general, or something else?

(Y'know, this is more fun than IRC chats. And with icons! ;)

All of that, plus Illyana as Little Nell Dying Again, plus at that point who gave a shit if they X-Men were all suddenly run over by a truck.
