I remember reading a review of Moby Dick that appeared in a sportsman/fishing magazine. I wish I could find it again...I saw it in a collection of odd book reviews.
It's at home, so not sure. Around page 300 of the Penguin edition, which is not as far as it sounds since the first 100 pages are introduction. Last chapter title I remember is 'On the Whiteness of the Whale.'
I plan on going to the bookstore to find a copy at lunch. Is it the Penguin edition that marks the 150th anniversary? Then again, if I just look and see how far the intro goes I could probably figure out which one you have. Not that we have to match, or anything. *stalk*
This is yer regular orange-spined Penguin. It may be out of print - I can't find it on Amazon or on the Penguin site. I've had it for years and years. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns up used, though.
On the other hand, it's the size of a grocery-store poundcake, so if weight is an issue you might like something without the supplemental material.
