I love that whole Edie Sedgewick thing she's got going on.

That website? With the Dawn bios? I especially love Longlocks and Fancy Feet.

OMG! Dawn dolls!

I never liked Barbies, but I had a whole collection of Dawn and her friends. They were neat, but on the whole I preferred stuffed animals and rag dolls (and still do).

But Dawn dolls. Yeah.

Yay! Oh, how brilliant, I love them! Thanks for letting me know, I'm printing them out tonight!

I found a bag of small off-cuts of 70s dress-making fabric in a charity shop the other day, so they will be perfect for these. I'm sure my Pippas (and one Dawn) will appreciate it, it's so hard to get them real Pippa vintage!

I'm very happy. I suck enough at Famous Covers and Mego leotards (since they're spandex, they're about as difficult as putting on a hat) - the thought of trying to suss out how to sew for limbs smaller than my fingers makes me wig. And she's got the thigh-high boots!

Also: new Pippa guidebook!

You have Takara Compact dolls?

I was soooooooo tempted by those, but I had strict rules keeping myself to only 1/6 dolls. Of course that all went out the window when I fell in love with Volks Super Dollfie, but I haven't been able to bring myself to spend the coin for one of those, so I'm in doll obsession limbo right now.

I used to enjoy the display of Compacts on Biscuit's House, but never thought about getting one, because they all lived in Japan. But my first visit to Disney World in '01, we went to Fake Japan and they had several on offer. I bought one of the schoolgirls and, when I had her home and set her free, fell hopelessly in love. She lives on the neck of my reading lamp now. (They're much better out of their test tubes. Get that stupid plastic off their heads and fluff out their clothing and they're fantastic.)

I've been tracking them down in odd lots and closeouts since then. The dolls aren't that expensive, $5-$25 depending on circumstances, but the shipping can be killer.

I pray to God I never see a Super Dollfie in person, because on that day I will be doomed. DOOMED!
