And that four-pack of Kelly dolls dressed in vintage Barbie wear really creeps me out.

A Kelly in "Solo in the Spotlight" is just disturbing. It's like the Germans made Kinderwhore Lilli.

well, yes. >.> ack.

it's like jon benet ramsey. the photos they picked out to put on the tabloid covers always gave me the creeps. like, ewww, that amount of blush isn't good for ANYONE, let alone anyone whose head is only half again the size of my fist.

Her folks had her in that whole kiddie pageant scene, where ALL the toddlers look like tinier, tartier Mary Harts.

yes. it's incredibly revolting and disturbing. it's like looking at some kind of really badly infected wound.

That should be metaquoted. And I adore your Hellcat icon. (Who is Hellcat?)

Marvel heroine. Her best adventures are in the Stever Gerber/Dave Kraft issues of The Defenders from the late 70s.

They sold really well though. The Dealer's Bonus was a fifth one that you couldn't buy anywhere (although rather than giving them away to good customers, a lot of dealers chose to sell them on eBay).

The creepiest ones to me are Tommy as Elvis though.

Tommy's creepy anyway. I pretend my Tommys are panto Principal Boys.

Dare I ask what the fifth one is wearing?

She's a brunette ponytail wearing "Gay Parisienne". It's...unusual to say the least.

I just got in the new Wizard of Oz ones --- seeing Kelly as Margaret Hamilton is even stranger.

Oh, my.

I've seen the Zardoz ones. Margaret Hamilton Kelly is...just the greenest thing ever.

I think Margaret Hamilton Kelly ought to glow in the dark like the way Lily Munster Barbie did (or was it Herman Ken...I'm confused now). I'm really annoyed that they didn't make a Flying Monkey Kelly too.

A Flying Monkey Kelly would just rock.

I was actually hoping for Flying Monkey Kelly or Skipper when they did the original Barbie as Wizard of Oz characters 10 years ago since it would've been in better scale but noooooooooo...

However, now Mattel seems to want to copy Madame Alexander's lead by doing Kelly versions of everything so who knows. Maybe next year.

Oh, ew. You've put me in mind of those creepy MA Sherlock Holmes, Ricky Ricardo, etc. I hate being in a room with those little fuckers. They want to kill all humans.

I think you're right. There are a lot of the 8" MA dolls that creep me out too. Luckily I don't collect them!

There's a store here with a massive display case of the little fuckers.

The ones with the little moustaches painted on...*shiver*
