Hm. The boys and girls at deepdiscountdvd.com are mind readers. Sensing my growing fury, they e-mailed me to tell me my package has just shipped. Now that's customer service!

I was going to call them at lunchtime, and really dreading it after hearing your stories.

There's loads more here (http://www.pricegrabber.com/rating_getreview.php/retid=277/masterid=0/ut=182f3c5974f979b4) and on some other consumer review sites. I'd say the jury is split about 50/50. When they work, they work well (albeit slowly -- never expect any new release to show up in a timely fashion) but when they don't, they're impossible. Esp. in the "you can't cancel, you can only ship it back to us one you arrive" or "we'll keep telling you something's going to ship until we just cancel it" vein.

Now Sharon loves pre-ordering from them, because they nearly always make the street date, and beat it as often as not.

Wow. I've always had to wait weeks and weeks to get anything I've pre-ordered. Maybe they just have it for people from New York? :)

I can't not order certain things from them -- they were the only place that carried the Sapphire & Steel set and as long as I'm willing to wait (and they *don't* cancel stuff 6 weeks after it's due to ship!), they're useful.

Nah. Sharon lives in one of the Bronxlyns.

I should check their price for the S&S set, but I'm afraid I'd end up buying it...

I think I paid $40 something but that was when I had the 20% off code. (Goes to check...it's $55.97. Yowch.) I still haven't watched mine either.

A favor?

Could you snarl at Amazon.com and get them to ship my damned "Haibane Renmei" DVD before March 1?

*snarl!*

Tape that and play it for them. I'm sure they'll come around.

(I still have to finish H-R disc 2.)

I only wish that I may use my power for goodness and niceness, and never for evil.
