My kneecap blew out again, just like it did in Ann Arbor. A nice Ace Bandage seemed to help. I will go out later for one of those strap-on jobs, because I am not good at the whole wrapping thing. I dropped out of Bluebirds in grade school. Meanwhile, owie, ow, ow, ow.

Played with Harry Potter toys, and briefly mourned my lack of a Sorting Hat stuffy. Then remembered I own a nice quarter-yard of soft black courduroy and a needle. The difficult bit seems to be attaching the hat to the brim thing so's it'll stand up. Feh, I say.

Drawing shit. I don't know why.

Spencer Gifts had those Goth fashion dolls marked down to four bucks last week, so I grabbed one. I like her very much apart from those stupid Gawth contact lenses, so Saturday I gave her a set of more realistic blue peepers and tweaked her make-up. Much prettier, and less stupidly trendoid.

Summertime blues continue. Ah well.

If you want the hat to stand, buy yourself some buckram to put inside it. I don't think it's very expensive.

*nods* or stiff felt or flat rolly batting. I want to make it like the ones I saw a few years ago, where you reach in a pocket and pick a House token at random.

Oh that sounds really cool. I don't think I've seen those anywhere. :)

They were at Penneys, in the bedding, during that period in 2001 where you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a piece of HP merchandise. A bunch of stuff went into the clearance bin for a buck or two (marked down from $20-$30). I went with the Hogwarts crest tapestry pillow instead, which I still think was the better choice. ;)

Wow -- this is what I get for jumping on the Harry Potter merchandising bandwagon so late. I never saw any of those things other than the HP character bath/swim towels that were being discounted for like $4 at Odd Lot a few months ago.

I haven't been in a Spencer's Gifts in ages. I kinda want to now. A Goth dolly sounds like potential amusement. Only, I have to figure out where there's a Spencer's Gifts around here.

Oh, and sorry about the knee. Feel better soon.

They're by the people who make Living Dead Dolls, but I can't remember the toy company. Mezco?

I can see why you'd want to repaint her eyes. Like the doll generally though. Hmm, must find a Spencer's.

I've seen them in Hot Topic's clearance on occasion, too.

That third sentence reads very interestingly out of context. But yeah, I dropped out of the blue birds too. Take care of that knee and feel better!

The Sorting Hat really should be made of courduroy. A real wizarding fabric, that.

Hope your knee does not go on a killing rampage, and, y'know, gets better soon.

Your icon makes me so, so happy.

Truly it is, along with those other wizarding fabrics: seersucker, novelty fleece, and quilter's batik.
