What's "Von Daniken horse hockey"?

Erich von Daniken. 1970s writer. Best known work was Chariots of the Gods?, which attempted to make a case for historical evidence for extraterrestrial influence in human history. Unfortunately his 'evidence' was a big pile of steaming crap. He also found it inconceivable that the people of the Middle East and South America could do basic math.
