Millennium season 2 comes out on DVD on January 4, 2005. I cannot pimp this enough, even with all my proportional pimping abilities of a much bigger pimp. This was the season run by the Wongs, with Darin Morgan as wingman. You get "Anamnesis" (aka the one with Patti Smith and the Black Virgin), "Goodbye Charlie" (the one with Steven Kiley, serial killer), "Room with No View" (the one with "Love is Blue" playing forever), "The Curse of Frank Black," (the tribute to Buster Keaton), and Darin Morgan's crazy-ape batshit "José Chung's 'Doomsday Defense,'" which kicks ass, takes names, takes the list of names, eats it, digs a grave, and then craps the remains of the names into it. You also get the terrible death of the Hallmark Family, Darren McGavin as Frank's Dad, neat tricks with cheesy 70s pop music, and what would have been the end of the world had Fox not unexpectedly shelled out for a third season.

"José Chung's 'Doomsday Defense" is fuckin' brilliant! I hope there's a commentary track on that one. (I've always wanted to know what the original version of the script was like since they had to tone it down for fear of Scientology suing the crap out of them.)

"Somehow, Satan Got Behind Me" is from this season, too. I'll never look at donut shops the same way again.

I don't know how much commentary of worth we'll get, since by all accounts, Chris Carter and the Wongs aren't speaking.

"Somehow, Satan Got Behind Me" is the reason I will not sit in doughnut shop chairs. Ew.

Indeed, Jose Chung and all things associated with him are divine. A friend of mine gave me a tape of an XF marathon from cable that happened to have, at the very end, the beginning of Millenium's Jose Chung ep. I was terribly disappointed that it cut off well before the end. :(

That and the Frank Black action figure, due at approximately the same time.

They should make him with some kind of interactive technology, so that every time something bad happens on the show, he gets all depressed. Or have his hair change color in hot water.

I loved second season, especially when it got super-apocalyptic.

Right before Christmas, over here, they're releasing a box set with all three seasons. That mofo is so mine...
