I also found listings for the Cybersix b-d albums. Yeah, okay, that'll only take several hundred dollars. And probably a better French dictionary.

Even with all that, less annoying than Naruto.

Dude.

By the way, did you get the DVD for Nausicaa?

Not yet - no time to watch it. (Also I'm more het up about Porco Rosso and The Cat Returns. Because I'm a contrary little shit.)

Yup, that's my Ann. Actually, I think there is some deal going with the company that's releasing the DVDs of all three. I can't remember what it is exactly - buy two of them get the third three, or something like that. You might want to check it out. Me, I'm not so interested in Porco Rosso as I am in The Cat Returns, but not enough in either to buy them. Nausicaa I got, though Elvis knows when I'll have time to watch it. (And can I be just a little annoyed at how every time they want to reach a broader audience with anime - i.e. not just the geek-fans - they have to include Patrick Stewart in the dub? I get the idea that the're going for actors that the average person recognizes, but I swear Patrick Stewart is on every damn one.)

Also I'm cheap and am hoping for a nice used copy. (I just got Millennium Actress for five bucks. Hate me.)

I can't figure out the free-DVD promotion thing - the wrapper message is a bit vague, and so I worry it's one of those things where you by two good DVDs at retail price and then have to choose among Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo, Curly Sue, and All Dogs Go to Heaven 3. I do want to see Nausicaa uncut and with decent voice actors -- the old Warriors of the Wind dub is...it's a 1980s anime dub, with the yelling. On the other hand, Patrick Stewart. He's gone from The Guy With The Voice to that annoying bastard who sells cars.

Kiki's Delivery Service is an excellent Disney/Ghibli dub, and completely Stewart-free.

All right, I will. I don't own Millennium Actress but I have seen it. It's just a gorgeous film. By the way, the same creative team made the anime series Paranoia Agent. One episode, which involves a police interagation, is styled very much like MA. Think of Paranoia Agent as Boogiebop Phantom, but not so doom-and-gloomy and making more sense. Besides, I like it.

Kiki's Delivery Service is an excellent Disney/Ghibli dub, and completely Stewart-free.

That certainly makes it sound worth it, especially the Stewart-free part. I've been considering that one

Oh, I totally want Paranoia Agent. (And, for that matter, the live-action Boogiepop that's just come out.) I've been jonesing for it since they started pimping it in Newtype last year. Bastards.

Kiki's is totally worth your time. It's also a cheap rental, since it's generally in the kids section.

Don't hate me, but I've seen the first 2 discs of Paranoia Agent. It's so totally worth your time. I love the way it connects things together, and how will jump into highly subjective storytelling. It seems to be created with the idea that the audience has intelligence. Plus it's just some fine animation. I recommend it.

Naruto manga v.1 disinterested me to the point that I returned it to the bookstore. I guess ninja antics aren't for me.

I've read every installment, because I get Shonen Jump and figure I might as well, on the off chance that something interesting might one day happen.

So far it hasn't.
